Fresno Philharmonic: Couples Therapy
Saturday, February 14, 2026 7:30 PM - Sunday, February 15, 2026 3:00 PM (PST)
Description
Perfect for a romantic evening out, this concert highlights musical couples, from the sweeping passion of Tchaikovsky’s Romeo and Juliet to the joyous sparkle of Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture. Hindemith’s Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Weber, a colorful orchestral tour de force written shortly after he immigrated to America, references the story of Turandot and Prince Calaf. Mozart’s deeply expressive Sinfonia Concertante features a real-life couple as soloists, violinist Qing Hou and violist Lawrence Neuman, bringing an extra layer of connection to the performance.
