
ACSO Announces New Officers and Board Members for 2025-2026
During the ACSO Annual Meeting on Saturday, August 9, 2025, members welcomed the association's new 2025/26 board officers and elected five new board members to serve a three-year term beginning October 1, 2025.
Members also said thank you and farewell to outgoing board members Loribeth Gregory Beck (Chief Programs Officer, Museum of Ventura County) and Amanda Wu Chroust (Slack Account Executive, Nonprofits, Salesforce) and celebrated Donna M. Williams (Board Member, Oakland Symphony) for her 12 years of service on the ACSO board and her transition to Board Member Emeritus.
Congratulations and thank you to all the incredible leaders who generously give their time, resources, and expertise to keep the ACSO community strong and vibrant!

INCOMING BOARD MEMBERS SERVING A THREE-YEAR TERM BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2025
![]() Associate Orchestra Conductor Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles | Dwayne Burrell is a dynamic conductor, clinician, and clarinetist whose artistry and leadership have left an indelible mark on Southern California’s music community. As Associate Orchestra Conductor for the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA)—the largest minority youth orchestra in the United States—he has spearheaded transformative performances, including the celebrated All-African American concert program at the League of American Orchestras 2022 Conference. A gifted clarinetist, Burrell refined his craft under the mentorship of Burt Hara of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and internationally renowned soloist Håkan Rosengren while studying at California State University, Fullerton. His conducting expertise was shaped by esteemed Wind Band Conductor and Educator, Dr. Gregory Whitmore, who is the Music Director of the Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble. Beyond the stage, Burrell is a visionary educator and leader with a passion for empowering young musicians. He plans to establish Harmonious Mentorship, a non-profit arts education initiative aimed at developing exceptional young musicians and fostering leadership, diversity, and artistic excellence. His commitment to nurturing talent and promoting music education positions him as a vital force in Southern California's cultural landscape. |
![]() Interim Director of Human Resources San Francisco Symphony | Alicia began a career in HR in Colorado in the transportation industry. She was immediately hooked on HR and moved to CA to attend SJSU and obtain a master’s in industrial/organizational psychology. While working for a company in Silicon Valley, Alicia ran a nationwide training certification program. After returning "home" to San Diego, Alicia worked for an EAP for several years as a HR and Critical Incident consultant for clients and then moved into social work as the Director of Organizational Development with 211 San Diego. In 2016, Alicia started working with the San Diego Symphony, and in 2024, with the San Francisco Symphony. For one year in between the two orchestras, Alicia ran the HR department for a local charter school organization. One of Alicia's favorite roles in that position was that of Lead Negotiator, bargaining the first contract with the Teachers Union, for non-certified staff. |
![]() President Classical California-San Francisco | Bill Lueth is the President of Classical California in San Francisco, overseeing sales, marketing, and events. Bill has a master’s degree in opera performance. He has had a 35-year radio career in multiple formats in the Bay Area initially as an on-air host and Program Director and was named President of KDFC when it became a non-profit in 2011. He was inducted into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame in 2021. |
![]() Stephen Salts | Stephen Salts is the Director of Learning & Youth Programs at San Diego Symphony where he oversees the orchestra’s dynamic programming for youth and families, including two concert series for families, a robust elementary school program, school and community open rehearsals, masterclasses, and more. He came to San Diego in 2023 from Los Angeles where he was the Senior Production Manager of the Grammy Award winning Los Angeles Master Chorale at Walt Disney Concert Hall. As a passionate advocate for youth music education, Stephen also served as the founding director of the Cathedral Choral Academy at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in the West Adams neighborhood of LA. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree at Florida State University, and a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach. He earned a second Master of Music degree at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he was honored to be a Fulbright Scholar for researched focused on the renowned tradition of British choral training. |
![]() Anne-Marie Spataru Immediate Past Chair Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra | In June 2025, Anne-Marie completed her three-year term as Chair of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Board which she joined in 2018. She was appointed in March 2025 to serve as co-chair of the New Music USA Board. She joined the Ojai Music Festival Board of Governors in 2021. She retired from UCLA following a 30-year career in the management of significant campus construction projects. Since retirement she has served in volunteer leadership positions with several UCLA affiliated support groups including as board member for the Center for the Art of Performance (2013-20) and as President of Women and Philanthropy (2018-20) and Gold Shield Alumnae (2020-26). She also served for 11 years in various leadership capacities on the board of the Santa Monica/Westside YWCA. |
