Stanford Symphony Orchestra Fall Concert – Mahler 1 & guest composer Wang Lu

Experience Gustav Mahler’s sweeping Symphony No. 1 with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra conducted by Paul Phillips at Bing Concert Hall. The program includes the West Coast premiere of Surge by guest composer Wang Lu and the world premiere of Phillips’s Concordia Mundi. Student conductor Sean Tan ’27 conducts Liszt’s Orpheus. An onstage Q&A with Wang Lu and Paul Phillips will take place at 7:00pm thirty minutes before the start of the concert at 7:30 pm.
