Embrace the joy and renewal of springtime with music inspired by the vitality of this beautiful season. Guest conductor Geoffrey Gallegos leads the orchestra in a vibrant program that brings the sounds of nature to life featuring Copland’s Appalachian Spring Suite, Glazunov’s Spring: A Musical Tableau for Orchestra, Op. 34; and Schumann’s Symphony No. 1 in B-flat Major (“Spring”). The music will be enhanced by visual images thanks to a collaboration with the Livermore Art Association which held a juried contest for artworks inspired after listening to the “Spring Awakenings” concert music. Following the concert join the musicians and artists in the theater lobby at a complimentary reception featuring Livermore Valley wines. Also included in admission: Gallegos’s preconcert talk, 7-7:15. Tickets for youth under age 22 are always free.
