SUMMARY:ICDC UNPLUGGED: Songs After Sunset
DESCRIPTION:ICDC Unplugged: Songs After Sunset\n\nCome sit with us by candlelight and let I Cantori sing to you for an evening.\n\nSongs After Sunset is music that shimmers rather than shouts. Pärt\, Messiaen\, Bruckner\, Brahms\, Barber\, Rheinberger\, Reger and Wolf wrote music that looks inward\, and we’ve brought it together for a program meant for the hours after the sun goes down.\n\nWe’re also adding a piece that has never been heard before. Composer and I Cantori bass Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli has set the words of Carmel poet Robinson Jeffers in Carmel Point\, commissioned by I Cantori for our 45th Anniversary Season. Its world premiere happens here\, only a few miles from the coastline Jeffers was writing about.\n\nYou don’t need to know any of this music. That’s part of the pleasure. Let us introduce you.\n\nSaturday\, September 19 at 8 PM\nCarmel Mission Basilica\n\nSunday\, September 20 at 7:30 PM\nHoly Cross Church\, Santa Cruz\n\nTickets and information: www.icantori.org
